The Wild Plants

We have lots of desert plant on the property - most of them invasive but edible. All of the brown desert land basically turns into salad when watered.

 Cheeseweed Mallow:

It can be eaten as a cooked green, raw in salads, and they say the seeds can be roasted and eaten.

Tumbleweed:

These grow all over and get over 6 feet tall if they are not mowed. When the plant is young, it tastes like green pea pods.

Purslane:

This plant lays flat against the ground and is a fast growing weed in the gardens. It is edible and tastes a little sour and salty.
